Guided tour of Arcos de la Frontera

Where
you are standing now
|
| After walking along the side of the main façade of St. Mary's, you can see a large block of stone just before some steps. Of Arab origin and probably a remnant from the Arab mosque which stood on this site before the church was built on top of it, the stone is decorated with a typical motif - in this case a tree. What could the tree signify? |
