Guided tour of Arcos de la Frontera
Where
you are standing now
| Following the street you come to an attractive inner patio on your right hand side. It belongs to the Torresoto Palace, built in the 17th century. The Torresoto family were part of the nobility in Arcos de la Frontera and this helps to explain the private chapel you can see at the back of the patio. Only the wealthy could afford such a luxury in their own homes. Having your own chapel meant that the priests could come to you, rather than you needing to visit church. This one is called The Chapel of The Divine Shepherdess. Don't forget, you can click on all the photographs shown to enlarge them. |
