This street leads into Cabildo Square. According to the famous Arcos de la Frontera historian Miguel Mancheño (1843-1922), the earthquake of 1755 caused the north side of the Castle to collapse onto this street, which once carried another name. When the street was restored a different name was given to it: Nueva, or 'New', Street. Hover your mouse over the scene to see how it looks today!

These photographs were taken by Víctor Marín in the 1940s and 1950s.
