A typical inner patio of a house in the Old Quarter of Arcos de la Frontera. This one was in Alta Street. Many of the houses had wells and some are still used to this day. The paint with the sugar-coating effect is called 'cal'.

These photographs were taken by Víctor Marín in the 1940s and 1950s.
