José | Emilio | Isabel | Cristobal and Cristobal | Sonia

SoniaThe Señorita.
Sonia Ramirez Mariscal, born 1985.

How long have you lived in Arcos de la Frontera?
All my life.

What are your earliest memories of the town?

I can remember seeing more of the surrounding land. These days, there are more houses.

How has Arcos de la Frontera changed?
There's much less open space. Also, many foreigners have bought houses in the Old Quarter.

What changes would you like to see in future?
Well, I'd like there to be more places to go for people of my age.

What does it mean to be 'arcense'?
For me it means this town is among the best - no, THE best!

What do you like about Arcos de la Frontera?
Just about everything!

How would you sum up Arcos de la Frontera?
Beautiful, quiet. The people of Arcos de la Frontera are great.

What is your favourite time of year here, and why?
Summer. That's when we have 'las carpas' - the open air concerts - every friday. Singers come from all over Spain to perform. The swimming pool's open too in summer. And into September we have the 'feria' (fair).

Where do you like going outside of Arcos de la Frontera?
Jerez for clothes shopping and El Puerto de Santa María for its beach.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey!
