For
wine connoisseurs there's more to Cádiz Province
than the world famous sherry from Jerez. Here's a route
which allows you to experience all the mystery of wine
production, including visits to vineyards and the famous
'bodegas, or wine cellars.

Prado del Rey
Attractive White Village, economy based on agriculture.
Enjoyed periods of great prosperity. In 1877 its famous
wine 'Pajarete' was honoured in Madrid Exposition. Worth
a visit: Bodegas Rivero. Population: approx. 5,700
Villamartín
Town of prehistoric origins. Well known for its red
wine production under denomination 'Tierra de Cádiz'.
Population: approx. 12,000
Arcos de la Frontera
In two bodegas here you'll find production of Regantío
Viejo and Viña Lucía de la Vicaria (reds),
and a white table wine, Tierra Blanca. Population: approx.
28,000
Jerez
Vibrant city and important commercial centre. World
famous sherry producer ('jerez' is the Spanish word for
sherry) with several top brand bodegas worth visiting.
Population: approx. 182,000
Trebujena
Town dating back to at least 1050 A.D., known for
its production of grape juice. Population: approx. 6,900
Sanlúcar de Barrameda
Seaside resort with its own signature wine called
Manzanilla - a clean wine of pale colour and intense tones.
Worth a visit: Bodegas Barbadillo. Population: approx.

Seaside town with its own special brand of wine called
Moscatel - sweet and very fruity. Population: approx.
